Shift Supervisor - Shift Plant Operator - No recruitment agencies for this vacancy

To both Operate and Maintain a Power Plant and to supervisor shift.

This position requires an experienced multi skilled mechanical plant fitter/technician to join our existing team of Plant Operatives. This hands-on role involves both daily operating and maintaining a Bio Fuel Combustion Plant, which generates 14W electricity.

The Plant includes HP steam raising boilers, steam turbine, water treatment plant and associated equipment such as pumps, valves and electric motor drives. Allen Bradley plc, ABB controllers and inverters. Preferable, but not essential experience of HV Switching (11Kv) and operating generator sets, in parallel with the National Grid.

Shift pattern is a variable 4 days on & 4 days off, 12 hour shifts, days and nights. This role offers an intellectual challenge in successfully operating a plc controlled process plant and Fluidised Bed Combuster, Waste Management Treatment and Power Generation.

Plant Labourer

This outdoor manual labouring role has the principle duty of unloading waste material, stacking pallets and keeping process areas clean and tidy maintaining a good level of housekeeping for the waste to energy process. This role would suit someone who prefers to work on their own initiative and take ownership for cleaning priorities, washing down and clearing up spillages around the plant. In addition you should have forklift truck experience, preferably with a current licence. Experience of driving heavy plant such as front shovel loader and telehandler would be advantageous, but not essential.

Engineering Design Manager

Must have an appropriate engineering degree and hands on relevant experience within a heavy process engineering background, able to provide and assist with complex technical solutions for our field of engineering.

The candidate must have a successful track record in managing a team of up to 10 qualified multi disciplined engineers, you will be required to work to tight deadlines, whilst meeting specifications, costs and ensuring quality is not compromised.

  • Provide Technical Engineering ability/solutions for relevant projects for Design.
  • Total Management and Accountability for the Department.
  • Liaising with the Senior Management Team & Clients for best practice/design specifications for all projects etc.
  • Liaising with (Manufacturers/Production) to ensure time schedules, design deadlines are met.
  • Ensure Quality requirements are met at all times.

Mechanical/Structural Design Engineers

We are looking for an experienced Structural/mechanical design Engineer, with a background in designing heavy mechanical engineering, structures and building projects, portal frame building experience an advantage.

Detailed technical experience required for this role includes:

Both positions would give the successful candidate the opportunity to work on a range of technically challenging projects. You will be used to working to deadlines, meeting specifications/costs whilst ensuring Quality is not being compromised. You will apply intensive & diversified knowledge of engineering principles & practices in a range of areas of technical responsibility. You must have the ability to identify engineering problems, as well as seek to analyse and resolve those identified. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Manufacturing Operations Manager

The Successful Candidate will have full Manufacturing responsibility, including optimum production methods, design, purchasing functions through to finished products. A Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering essential with a minimum of 5-8 years of providing extensive technical detailed solutions in a heavy engineering background, must be a hands-on manager with proven demonstrated leadership skills, good commercial/client development skills backed up with strong technical expertise.

Job Responsibilities will include:

  • Technical detailed engineering management, ability to review technological improvements within Manufacturing and keep updated with new techniques.
  • Management of Health and Safety for all relevant operation.
  • Direct responsibility for scheduling productions jobs to support commercial projects that have strict due dates.
  • This position will be accountable for co-ordinating the programming, planning and purchasing needs to support the production requirements for the Department. resource planning, cost and schedule control, measuring department performance for safety, customer service, quality and productivity.
  • Continuously develop a highly motivated and technically qualified workforce that provides promotional opportunities and advanced technical capabilities.
  • Working with the IMS Quality Management System, looking at Continuous Improvement within the Organisation.

Engineering/Production Foreman

We are looking for an experienced Workshop Foreman, preferably with a previous background and hands on experience for welding operations and processes. You will ensure that all planned work schedules are managed, ensuring costing & time management requirements are met, you must ensure high quality is maintained at all times.
You will effectively supervise a team of 30+ multi disciplined workforce fabricator/welder, machinists, fitters and be responsible for ensuring Health & Safety requirements are met. Your interpersonal skills will ensure that you keep your team motivated, are able to communicate effectively.

Job Responsibilities will include:

  • Comply with the company IMS Quality Management System for H & S Quality and Environmental requirements.
  • Manage and control all aspects of Health and Safety requirements for your areas.
  • Maintain appropriate records to manage production schedules.
  • Implement and control planned maintenance programmes.
  • Assist with selection, training and development of Production Dept staff.
  • Responsibility for managing welding operations, practises and procedures for company requirements.
  • Constant review for continuous Improvement to working practices.
  • Liaison with Certification Authority.
  • Good communication skills to include English verbal & written communication skills.
